Famous for it’s roots which can produce a vivid range of hues from orange to red Madder. Madder has also been used medicinally to bring on delayed menses and treating urinary gravel.
Description

Red Maca, Lepidium Peruvianum. This Maca variety is better adapted to higher altitudes and has a the reputation of being the most potent of the various Maca varieties. It has performed quite well here at 500 feet, but would probably thrive at higher elevations. All Maca varieties will go dormant during the extreme heat of summer, so mark their spot well.Full sun Hardy perennial. Hardy to Zone 3
